Studio J layouts.

Here are some layouts I did in the Studio. I purchased a 1 year membership. This gets me 50% off my layouts, exclusive patterns and templates. I also get 1 free shipment a month. Embossing

Last weekend I was scrapping with some amazingly talented paper crafters. They inspired me to use different supplies, like glitter, and embossing powders and other mediums that I have not used in quite some time.
Here is a card I made mixing embossing powders.

The embossing powders I used were:
COCOA on the Tree
CLEAR DETAIL on the Gratitude. (Inked it with Cocoa ink, then embossed clear detail over the image.
CRYSTAL BLUE and cocoa mixed for the edges and the Chipboard.
The gratitude is from the Nov. Stamp of the Month Set on page 109.

I used the Mistletoe paper pack and the new OLD WORLD ALPHABET SET (E1017 with 75 letters and numbers! look on page 83)

I used the new Flourishes Metal foundry embellishments which are on page 92 and sell for just $4.95.

The flowers are from the new Mistletoe Level 2 assortment pack. Just $4.95 on page 91. Take a look at the pack.....It is a holiday gotta have!

I also used lots of my new favorites both the colored sparkles and Opaques which are on page 90 and those packets sell for just $2.95 a piece.

This card was fun to make  I used the blender pen to color in the characters.

I also used some rubons and sponged on the Stayzon black pad.

What do we do to honor those that lost their lives? I believe we LIVE. We DO good with our lives. Set goals, take action, FEEL SUCCESS! This is what we are supposed to do. That is living. Moving forward.

I used the glitter rub-ons with for the hello and the image in the middle of the flower. I used a glue pen on the wings and let it dry to a tacky.....then applied the glitter to it from the rub-on sheet.

EDUCATE YOURSELF to SUCCEED!

I am a strong believer of KNOWING the industry we are in and LEARNING how to SUCCEED. If you are reading this, you have an interest in succeeding in your business. Many people ask me how. For whatever reason, I have always searched out information to help me achieve my goals. Invest in your success by READING and LEARNING from those who have succeeded.

My Recommendation is to go to the DSWA (Direct Selling Women's Alliance). Sign up to be a member and you will have access to many taped lectures by the best of the best. You can search the area where you feel you need help. These taped calls motivate you in all areas of your Direct Selling business. I also would insist that you need to get the BUILD IT BIG book put out by the DSWA. Keep it by your bed. It has 1 to 3 page articles. Look up what you want to improve and read about how you can improve what you are doing.

If you are a CLOSE TO MY HEART consultant, the Training Academy and the Listening Library are more specific to our company and will help you tremendously.

SUCCESS doesn't just happen to you, YOU have to MAKE IT HAPPEN. Educate yourself. No one can do it for you. Give yourself the tools and information to succeed. Read and listen to others who gladly share their strategies with you.

One thing that I find fascinating, is that the key to success is spelled out for everyone. It is not a trick. There is not a secret to success. You have to be responsible for making it happen for you.

Convention is winding down....

I am so grateful for many things in my life. One is my association with Close to My Heart. I am always challenged to continue to grow and learn While I have mainly been posting artwork to inspire others in their crafty creations, I realized that helping others achieve their goals in this industry of Direct Selling is also a huge part of what I love and this blog has not been addressing that.  I hope that I can share experiences and information I have learned over the years to help you continue to work and achieve your goals.

I would appreciate ideas and feedback on anything I post. If you have tried any strategy or Idea I share, please post and share what worked or did not work and why you think that is so. The more we help and support each other the more successful each of us will be.

Cherry O Album

This is an album that I worked on with Amber Engel and Rae Jamison. It is Amber's baby's first year album. We wanted to get the book done and we only worked with the Cherry O paper pack and the Creative Basics paper that match. Here is what we did:

My Wedding layout Using the Veranda Paper Pack

Here is the layout you can make with the WOTG package. It comes with step by step directions to create this layout. I loved the idea to use the Stazon brown pad to make the pewter elements look like the antique copper ones. Very cool!!!
